About us
A Brief History of Bearchah Assembly
In 1973, at the call of the Holy Spirit, the faithful servant of God, Bro. Bakht Singh,
visited Dubai in response to the heartfelt request of Bro. MJ Kumar and several
Pakistani brothers—Bro. Rafiq Peter, Bro. Jalal Massih, Bro. Williams, Bro. Saleem, Bro. Parvaiz Kokar, and Bro. Paul. Their humble gatherings began in Bro. Peter Rafiq’s residence, where they sought the presence of God every Friday, praying and worshiping together in unity and faith.
In 1975, after much prayer and divine guidance, Bro. Bakht Singh returned to Dubai to lay the foundation of Berachah Assembly, Dubai. The Lord brought together a diverse body of believers united in the Spirit, who gathered every Friday morning for worship. The early leadership—Bro. Rafiq Peter, Bro. Joshua Moses, Bro. Williams, Bro. Jalal Massih, and Bro. MJ Kumar—shepherded the flock with humility and grace, guiding the church through its formative years.
By God’s grace, Bro. Bakht Singh continued to visit Dubai each year, holding special meetings and edifying the church. The congregation grew not only in numbers but in spiritual strength as God’s Word took root in the hearts of the believers. In 1979, Bro. DS Christopher and Sis. Ruth were transferred to Dubai, where they served the church faithfully, strengthening the body of Christ. In 1988, Bro. Rafiq Peter was transferred to Oman, and in 1992, God called Bro.DS.Christopher and Sis. Ruth to Hebron for fulltime ministry.
In 1982, the church faced a formidable trial when Bro. Bakht Singh was briefly
detained by the police for conducting meetings at Bro. Rafiq Peter’s house. This
difficult time led the elders to seek the Lord in prayer, and He faithfully guided them to move to the Holy Trinity Church compound, where the church continues to gather today. Through every trial, God’s faithfulness and protective hand were evident.
Since the founding of Berachah Assembly in 1975, God has remained faithful to the church. He has raised up many God-fearing servants to lead the flock, including Bro. Theodore, Bro. Rajan, Bro. Thomas, Bro. Rajaiah, and Bro. Daniel Christopher. Although we deeply miss our beloved forefathers—Bro. Bakht Singh and those who have gone to be with the Lord—their legacy lives on in the work they began and the foundation they established. Their prayers and labor continue to inspire and guide us in our walk of faith.
In 2007 by God’s grace, Br.Theodore came from Hebron and ordained elders at Berachah Assembly. Some of them are continuing in the responsibility, while few
others have been added in the due course. Since then, through the prayers of the
saints and the grace of God, the church has continued to press forward in His service despite the challenges that arise.
In November 2024, we were approached by Holy Trinity Church in accordance with the Community Development Authority of the UAE, which mandates the appointment of a pastor (God’s Servant) to lead the church. After much prayer and in consultation with our parent church in Hebron, Hyderabad, India, and the local elders of Berachah Assembly, Bro. T Jaikumar Rabbi was appointed as God’s servant. In December 2024, Bro. Rabbi officially took over the flock, continuing the work of shepherding God’s people in Dubai and ensuring that the church remains spiritually strong and steadfast in the Lord’s service.
Our Statement of faith
We believe in the authority of the Bible, as the complete Word of God. We believe in the trinity. God’s plan of salvation for mankind as planned by God the Father, executed by God the Son by His atoning death on the cross and His resurrection and applied and worked out in the life of the believers by God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Body of Christ the universal church composed of all Born again believers all over the world and the local expression of that body in every place where believers meet together for worship and breaking of bread, fellowship and Bible study and prayer.
We believe in the equality of the believers in the body of Christ being equally precious as they are redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, being equally important and useful as indwelt by the Holy Spirit to contribute to the building up of the church, the spiritual house and God’s holy habitation to show forth His fullness, unity, love, wisdom and power.
We believe in the preparation of the Church for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for which the worship is an important part of that preparation. Therefore we encourage individual worship of believers in spirit and in truth around the Lord’s table every week, enabling them to declare the preciousness as the Lord as experienced by them. We warn and encourage believers to take part in the Lord’s table worthily to be prepared for the glorious appearing of the Lord. This exercise is important as the church is being sanctified and prepared as the holy bride of Christ.
We believe in the stewardship of the church in preaching the gospel of all people regularly so that souls are saved and added to the church, discipled so that the kingdom of God is built. Every opportunity to proclaim the Gospel is taken and every believer is encouraged to participate in the various outreach programs.
We believe in the autonomy of local churches under the headship and lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ based on the New Testament pattern and functioning according to the principles revealed in the Word of God.
